Spencer Green

Consultant

Spencer joined Newmarket Strategy in August 2026 as a Consultant in the Strategic Government Affairs team. He brings experience from the pharmaceutical industry, having previously worked in public affairs and corporate affairs roles at Eli Lilly & Company and Kyowa Kirin. Across these positions, he developed expertise in stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and strategic communications, with a strong grounding in ABPI compliance and the evolving UK healthcare policy landscape.

He holds a BSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bath, where his dissertation examined models of local government and their impact on health and economic outcomes in Greater Manchester.

Oluwakonyinsola Joshua

Analyst

Konyin joined Newmarket as an Analyst in the Value & Access team in August 2026. He graduated from Imperial College London with a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Bioengineering and brings experience from two early-stage diagnostic start-ups. Konyin is driven by a passion for improving the access of underserved patient populations to innovative medicines.

Dhruv Gupta

Analyst

Dhruv is an Analyst in Newmarket’s Value & Access team. He holds an MSc in Applied Cancer Science from the University of Oxford, alongside a B.Pharm and MBA, building on a background in pharmacy and business. Dhruv has experience supporting pharmaceutical commercialisation and market access projects, including market research, project management, and the evaluation of new therapies across UK and European healthcare markets. Alongside his industry experience, his academic work includes peer-reviewed publications and book chapters spanning a range of therapeutic areas and aspects of drug development. Outside of work, Dhruv enjoys writing, running and podcasting.

Valerie Jentzsch

Manager

Valerie is a Manager at Newmarket, leading policy and government affairs work for global pharmaceutical clients. Her insights support clients to understand policy, engage effectively and drive change to strengthen patient access.

Prior to Newmarket, Valerie managed policy analysis, engagement strategy and thought-leadership projects for life sciences clients at a leading strategic advisory consultancy. She started her career in Brussels, as a Trainee in the European Parliament followed by several years at a health public affairs consultancy.

Valerie holds and MSc in international health policy from the London School of Economics and a BSc in biochemistry with management from Imperial College London.

Peter Clark

Globally leading oncologist who previously served as the National Clinical Lead for the Cancer Drugs Fund within NHS England. Extensive experience working with the NHS, pharmaceutical companies, clinicians and patients to accelerate access to novel treatments.

Jake Beech

Senior Manager

Jake is a Senior Manager in the Service Strategy team with over a decade of experience in NHS policy and practice.

In his most recent roles, Jake has worked with a wide array of major global companies on deploying MedTech, digital health and pharmaceutical treatments in the NHS.

Before moving to consulting, Jake was a Fellow at the Health Foundation, leading on primary and community care policy and research. Here he led major research projects ranging from international comparisons to NHS contracting. Jake was also previously a researcher at The King’s Fund in its responsive policy team, offering rapid analysis and engagement on major health policy developments.

Jake holds a BA in Natural Sciences (Pathology) and an MSci In Systems Biology from the University of Cambridge.

Sonia Rasouli

Consultant

Sonia is a Consultant in Newmarket Strategy’s Global Policy team, supporting clients across the health and life sciences sector through policy research, analysis, and monitoring. Her work focuses on understanding global healthcare policy developments and translating complex evidence into clear insights to support client projects.

Sonia holds a First-Class BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Roehampton and an MRes in Pharmaceutical Research from University College London. Her academic background has given her a strong foundation in biomedical science and pharmaceutical research, alongside a particular interest in the intersection of healthcare, science, and policy.

Ryan Lam

Consultant

Ryan is a Consultant in Newmarket Strategy’s Global Policy team. He has previous experience working at a boutique healthcare consultancy, where he advised global life sciences clients on evolving policy landscapes and their implications for medicines access and patient outcomes. Ryan is passionate about pharmaceutical government affairs, global pricing and market access policy across key geographies.

He holds a dual MSc in International Health Policy and Social Research Methods, both from the London School of Economics (LSE), and a BA in European Politics from King’s College London. During his undergraduate studies, he also studied abroad at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Joined Newmarket Strategy in November 2022 as vital support to the office management team. Role includes administration, accounting activities, personnel matters, arranging corporate events and other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Dr Keith Ridge CBE

Senior Advisor

Dr Keith Ridge CBE was the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England for nearly twenty years until his recent retirement from the NHS and the pharmaceutical register. As the country's most senior pharmacist, he led the profession, and was the NHS's and Government's principal leader on pharmacy and medicines use. Keith was the professional lead on medicines policy, working alongside national policy directors over many years. He was the clinical lead for the introduction of biosimilars to the NHS, working closely with both patient representatives and policy makers to secure both better access and value. Keith introduced medicines optimisation into the NHS, whilst also having responsibility for digital medicines and pharmacy educational reform. He led programmes on transforming pharmacy practice in line with the NHS's Five Year Forward View and Long Term Plan, including the development of clinical practice in community pharmacy and the introduction of clinical pharmacy into general practice. He also played a senior role in the UK's antimicrobial resistance and influenza programmes. He was the professional lead for both securing the medicines supply chain and delivering the pharmaceutical aspects of the vaccination programme during Covid and has represented Government nationally and internationally. Keith has also led Government reviews on pharmacy professional regulation, education, medication safety and overprescribing. Prior to his national roles he was a Chief Pharmacist at major UK teaching hospitals.

Suzy Heafield

Senior Advisor

Pharmacist who held senior medicines commissioning roles within NHS England since 2013, most recently as Head of Medicines Value and Delivery within the Commercial Medicines Directorate. Projects delivered include the pilot subscription-type payment model for antimicrobials and procurements for hepatitis C and HIV treatments. Also served as Chief of Staff to the Commercial Medicines Director.

Valeria López Manrique

Analyst

Valeria has experience in evidence synthesis, economic modelling, and supporting HTA submissions. She has worked across disease areas including oncology, chronic pain, and ophthalmology.

Prior to joining Visible Analytics, she worked as a teaching ophthalmologist in Fiji, where she trained residents and supervised Master-level research theses. She also completed a health economics internship at Medtronic, contributing to value dossiers, budget impact models, and systematic literature reviews.

Valeria holds an MSc in International Health Policy (Health Economics) from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and a medical degree specialising in ophthalmology.

Amie Padhiar

Director

Amie has over 12 years of experience working across consultancy and pharmaceutical industries. She has worked in consultancy for over 7 years on a variety of statistical analysis and health economics projects. Prior to joining Visible Analytics, Amie was a Health Economics Manager for a pharmaceutical company, working across the pipeline from early preparations to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions.

Amie has a statistical background and has developed a particular interest in evidence synthesis. She has conducted and led indirect treatment comparisons with various methodologies to support HTA submissions in the UK and from a global perspective. She has experience conducting various types of individual patient data analysis, including survival analysis and treatment switching adjustments. In addition, Amie has developed, adapted and critically reviewed economic models for HTA submission preparations.

During her time working for a pharmaceutical company, she led the health economics components of HTA submission preparations in the UK across a range of disease areas. She closely collaborated with above country and cross-functional teams to support the development and implementation of UK market access strategies. She also undertook a short-term assignment within the Global Health Economics team to support value demonstration for a Global cost-effectiveness model.

Amie has an MSc in Medical Statistics and BSc in Mathematics (University of Leicester).

Anastasiya Armitage

Senior Consultant

Anastasiya is an associate medical writer with experience in scientific writing, literature reviews, data analysis, and editing. Prior to joining Visible Analytics, Anastasiya had a career as a freelance writer for three years alongside her studies, where she worked on writing projects for clients from a wide array of different industries. During this time, she also carried out proofreading and editorial work.

Since joining Visible Analytics, Anastasiya has worked on a variety of projects, such as HTA submissions, manuscripts and value communication projects in a range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiology, and infectious diseases.

Anastasiya holds a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Scientific Research and Communication at the University of Warwick, both at a first-class level.

Aditi Hombali

Senior Consultant

Aditi has nearly 6 years of experience conducting systematic reviews in mental health topics (hoarding, substance use disorder, eating disorders), physical therapy (stroke rehabilitation, diabetes mellitus), and public health. Prior to working with Visible Analytics, she has worked at The Institute of Mental Health, Singapore as a Research Officer, and as a Systematic Review Officer at Public Health Evidence South Asia (South Asian satellite of the Cochrane Public health group), Manipal University, India.

She was also involved in primary research projects and has presented the research findings at conferences and scientific meetings. Her research and evidence synthesis work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals.

Aditi holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Manipal University, India and is currently pursuing an MSc in Evidence Based Health Care at the University of Oxford.

Eric Manalastas

Lead Consultant

Eric has conducted systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses since 2017. His research portfolio spans a range of behavioural, sexual, and mental health outcomes (including social adversity, suicide risk, cigarette smoking, and HIV risk), particularly among minority populations.

Prior to joining Visible Analytics, Eric was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Bath. His previous roles include academic positions as instructor at the University of the Philippines and visiting lecturer at Sophia University in Japan.

He has authored and co-authored papers in peer-reviewed journals such as the Lancet, Neurology and Therapy, the International Journal of Health Promotion and Education, and American Psychologist.

Eric holds an MSc in gender and sexuality studies from the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), a graduate certificate in LGBT health policy and practice from the George Washington University (USA), and a PhD in social psychology from the University of Sheffield (UK). Eric is a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society).

Yuxian Chen

Senior Consultant

Yuxian has experience in analysing clinical trial data, conducting indirect treatment comparison, and performing survival analysis. Since entering the consultancy sector specializing in health economics and Heath Technology Assessment (HTA) in 2021, she has worked on a wide range of HTA projects. She has gained knowledge of Bayesian network meta-analysis, population-adjusted indirect comparison and statistical analyses in observational studies.

Yuxian is proficient in the statistical programming language R. She collaborated with team members to develop an interactive web application using R Shiny and presented it as a case study project in ISPOR Europe 2023. Before joining Visible Analytics, Yuxian interned in various roles, including financial analyst, technical data analyst and market research analyst, gaining a broad set of analytical skills.

Yuxian holds a Master’s degree in Statistics with distinction from University College London and a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from BNU-HKBU United International College in China.

Urshita Pandit

Senior Consultant

Urshita has experience in carrying out economic evaluation studies and supporting HTA submissions across the UK and Ireland. She also has experience collecting and analysing primary data.

In past projects, Urshita has worked in the disease areas of oncology, urology, ophthalmology and chronic diseases (diabetes and blood related disorders). Prior to working at Visible Analytics, she worked as a financial analyst and then as an economic researcher working policy papers and case studies for more than three years. Her current areas of interest are economic modelling and real-world evidence. As a part of her master’s degree, Urshita did her internship at Bayer Ireland working on an economic evaluation in ophthalmology.

Urshita holds a MSc in Health Economics from the National University of Ireland, Galway  completed with a Postgraduate Business Merit Scholarship and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

Alisha Angdembe

Lead Consultant

Alisha has experience of effectively managing and supporting various projects spanning the full Health Technology Assessment (HTA) pipeline, covering a diverse array of diseases. She has developed and adapted multiple cost‐effectiveness models (CEM) and budget impact models (BIM). Her expertise spans various therapeutic areas, including oncology (e.g., chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, cervical cancer), rare diseases (e.g., APDS), and other conditions (e.g., systemic lupus erythematosus, invasive candidiasis). Before joining Visible Analytics, Alisha spent over three years leading and managing humanitarian and development projects, including maternal and child health promotion, non-communicable disease prevention, and disaster risk reduction.

She completed her double master’s degree under an Erasmus Mundus Excellence Scholarship. Alisha holds Master of Public Health with distinction from the University of Sheffield and Magister degree in public health (specialisation in health economics and health system governance) with distinction from Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. As a part of her master’s degree, Alisha did her internship at the Global Health Economic Centre (previously known as Centre for Health Economics in London) in London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for 6 months.

Kerrie Ford

Director

Kerrie has over 15 years’ experience in scientific and medical writing in market access consultancy and in academia, with expertise in health technology assessment submissions, value communications materials, advisory boards, journal publications and conference proceedings.

As a medical writer, Kerrie has experience in the cardio-renal-metabolic, oncology, immunology and rare disease spaces, establishing and communicating unmet need and value of assets from early value stories through reimbursement submissions and into launch and post-launch strategy. Her approach centres on developing trusted partnerships with clients, and she has successfully led portfolios of work by combining deep insight into the therapeutic area with an overarching strategic focus. She has supported clients with a range of project requirements, including chairing advisory boards and representing manufacturers at HTA committee meetings.

Prior to working in consultancy, Kerrie completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, followed by postdoctoral research at the Universities of Oxford and Bristol. She specialised in cardiovascular physiology and diabetes research, presenting her research at conferences and co-authoring a number of peer reviewed publications, including in Circulation, Nature Cardiovascular Research, and Cardiovascular Research.

Jo Whelan

Director

Jo has over 25 years’ experience in scientific publishing, medical writing, and value communication. She has specialised in HEOR and market access consultancy work for the last 10 years. She has expertise across a broad range of project types, including HTA submissions, value stories, global value dossiers, evidence mapping and gap analysis, study reports, manuscripts and training materials.

Jo has experience in a wide range of therapy areas, including oncology, infectious diseases, diabetes, cardiology, inflammatory conditions and rare diseases. She has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed publications.

Prior to joining Visible Analytics, Jo was Principal Medical Writer at HEOR Ltd, and before that ran a successful freelance business supporting consultancies, communications agencies, pharmaceutical companies and medical charities. She regularly teaches workshops for the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) on writing skills and value communication. She served for three years as EMWA’s Education Officer, managing their Education and Professional Development Programme.

Jo holds a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc from Queen Mary, University of London in Cancer Therapeutics.

Peter Gal

Director

Prior to joining Visible Analytics, Peter was Senior Research Scientist in the Modelling and Simulation group of Evidera for 10 years. Prior to that, he worked in the financial services industry as a mathematical modeler for 12 years. At Morgan Stanley’s Market Risk Department his responsibilities included model reviews of derivative pricing and risk models. Prior to that, he worked at ING and Winterthur as a life insurance actuary.

In health economics Peter has global model development experience in the therapeutic areas of oncology, autoimmune conditions, kidney and liver disease, neurology, and visual disorders, including cost-effectiveness and budget impact models (partitioned survival, Markov cohort, microsimulation, discrete event simulation, and dynamic transition models). Peter worked in submissions for several health technology assessment agencies in the UK, Canada, France, Sweden. Peter was Evidera’s Best Practices Lead in modelling methodologies.

Peter published articles in health economic journals such as Pharmacoeconomics, Journal of Medical Economics, Journal of Market Access & Health, and Expert Review of Vaccines about economic models of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), Covid-19, Parkinson's Disease, and non-small cell lung cancer, and presented posters about modelling methodology at the annual European ISPOR conferences since 2017.

Peter holds a BSc in programming and mathematics from the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, an MSc in economics with specialization in actuarial science and applied statistics from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, and a diploma in quantitative finance from the Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna, Austria.

Viktor Kovacs

Director

Viktor brings more than 12 years of experience in research, consulting and in leading and executing large-scale health economic studies. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for the design and implementation of complex analytical projects addressing a wide range of decision problems and methodological approaches. His expertise spans both cohort-based and individual-level modelling techniques, including—but not limited to—the most frequently applied Markov and partitioned survival models.He has recent and in-depth experience across several therapeutic areas, such as pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, multiple myeloma, and lung cancer.

In addition, Viktor has led projects in endometriosis, TK2d, von Hippel–Lindau disease (VHL), as well as bladder and renal cancers. Viktor is passionate about modelling rare diseases, which often lack precedent, have limited understanding of their underlying mechanisms, and present substantial data gaps.Beyond primary analysis work, he has carried out numerous conceptual and technical validations of models developed either internally by colleagues or externally for clients, ensuring methodological rigor.Viktor has also led or contributed to multiple economic submissions to national authorities in England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Nordic countries, and has supported reimbursement applications across most of central and Eastern Europe. His work has consistently focused on generating robust evidence to inform pricing, access, and reimbursement decisions.

He holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest.

Louise Linsell

Director

Louise has over 30 years’ experience working in clinical trials, medical statistics and epidemiology, in a wide range of disease fields and health care settings. She has worked in the consultancy sector for 3 years and has expertise in evidence synthesis, survival analysis, surrogate endpoint modelling and utility mapping for HTA submissions.

In her previous role as Associate Professor of Medical Statistics and Clinical Trials at the University of Oxford, she provided specialist statistical and methodological expertise as a co-investigator on multi-million funding applications submitted to the HTA and other funding streams. She was awarded a highly competitive National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Research Doctoral Fellowship and completed a DPhil in Population Health. She also previously advised on the NIHR Patient Benefit Regional Advisory Panel, evaluating grant applications, and making recommendations for funding.

Louise has diverse methodological experience, ranging from clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analysis to large prospective cohort studies, case-control studies, and cross-sectional surveys. She also has extensive experience of analysing longitudinal datasets with repeated measures and the complex analysis of large routinely collected datasets. She also contributed to the design and analysis of the world-leading Recovery platform trial investigating hospital treatments for SARS-CoV-2.

Louise has extensive experience of writing research papers and disseminating results at national and international conferences and other events. She has over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is first author on a book chapter entitled, “Statistics in Medical Research” in “Introduction to Research Methodology for Medical Specialists & Trainees”.

Juliette Thompson

Director

Juliette has 13 years’ experience in consultancy, primarily focusing on the development and conduct of systematic literature reviews, but also with experience in evidence synthesis, economic modelling and HTA submission development. She has experience in a range of disease areas including oncology (non-small cell lung cancer, Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, multiple myeloma), respiratory (COPD), metabolic disorders (type 1 and type 2 diabetes), HIV, ophthalmology (dry eye disease, vernal keratoconjunctivitis) as well as several rare diseases. Prior to joining Visible Analytics, she was a Lead Systematic Reviewer at ICON plc (over 7 years).

Juliette has presented at several international clinical and health outcomes conferences, including a symposia presentation at ISPOR, and is the co-author of published, peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Evidence-Based Medicine, Melanoma Research, Diabetes Metabolism and Obesity, the Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, Current Medical Research and Opinion, and Cancers.

Juliette holds of Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of East Anglia.

Pascale Dequen-O'Byrne

Senior Director

Originally trained in economics, Pascale brings 15 years of experience working in HTA and decision modelling in both analytical and managerial roles for consultancy and the medical device industry. Prior to joining Visible Analytics, Pascale was part of the Biostatistics Research Group at the University of Leicester where she pursued her doctoral research as an NIHR fellow.

Pascale has supported market access and evidence generation strategies (including real-world evidence activities), submissions to HTA agencies/payers, HTA policy and primary research. She has led both rapid and large-scale projects, being the key point of contact for clients, successfully managing multiple projects and delivering projects to expected quality, timelines, and budget (including HTA submissions to NICE, SMC, NCPE). Her past projects include systematic literature reviews, feasibility assessments and evidence synthesis, retrospective case studies, data simulation and statistical modelling. She has also developed and adapted several cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for different countries.

Pascale has collaborated on large-scale initiatives such as the IMI GetReal project and supported research commissioned by EFPIA, Eucomed, and the WHO. She has presented her work in the UK and at international conferences, such as International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and HTAi, and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of ISPOR and ESMO.

Pascale holds a PhD in biostatistics (University of Leicester), Master’s degree in International Health Policy and Health Economics (London School of Economics), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Development (McGill University, Canada).

Alexander Burlak

Alexander is an experienced contract manager specialising in negotiation and delivery of complex commercial agreements. He led high-performing legal teams, managed large volumes of high-value contracts, and provided expert guidance on services, procurement, sponsorship, and GDPR compliance agreements for Microsoft.

Fluent in English and Polish, Alexander has supported cross-border negotiations and worked closely with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to secure favourable outcomes in fast-moving, high-pressure environments. His experience spans both in-house and law firm settings, giving him a unique ability to bridge commercial objectives with legal compliance.

Alexander’s leadership experience includes managing a team of contract negotiators, overseeing quality control, training, and stakeholder engagement. He has also lead teams testing legal AI tools meant to streamline legal documents in large commercial departments.

Outside of work, Alexander is a former European Karate Kyokushin Champion maintaining a keen interest in history, sports and business.

Meghan McConville

Meghan McConville is a business development leader with over eight years’ experience in strategy and growth roles, with a focus on life sciences, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

She combines consulting experience at Putnam and PwC with hands-on advisory work as Founder and Director of Mevalin, supporting organisations on commercial strategy, market access, and growth.

At Newmarket Strategy, Meghan leads business development and marketing, playing a hands-on role in scaling the firm’s growth engine.

Zuzanna Opuchlik

Zuzanna has joined Newmarket Strategy as a Value & Access Consultant. She has previous experience working in an HEOR consultancy, where she supported HTA submissions and worked on the development of value communication tools, including economic models. Her experience spans different disease areas and international markets. Zuzanna is passionate about improving patient access to innovative medicines through the generation and communication of robust value evidence.

She holds a first-class MSci in Medical Innovation and Enterprise from University College London and was named to the Dean’s List in her final year.

Outside of work Zuzanna enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends.

Joe Smale

Consultant

Joe joined Newmarket Strategy in April 2026 as Consultant in the Strategic Government Affairs team. He brings five years' worth of experience in health and life sciences, working at both an industry trade association and a prominent patient organisation. During this time, he has developed a rounded understanding of UK life sciences landscape and complex issues impacting patients' ability to access care and treatment, particularly in the case of rare diseases. He has worked closely with key stakeholders in both capacities to raise awareness of, and untimely overcome, these barriers.

Ella Toh

Consultant

Ella joined Newmarket Strategy in April 2026, following over four years in market access consulting supporting projects across the UK, Europe, APAC and MENA. Her experience includes designing and conducting primary payer research, including stakeholder interviews, and contributing to the development of advisory board materials. She has contributed to evidence generation planning, HTA strategy and competitive intelligence, cost-effectiveness model adaptation, value story development, and pricing strategy.

Ella has authored and co-authored multiple posters on postnatal depression, as well as co-authored work in CAR-T therapies, presented at ISPOR conferences. She holds a Master of Pharmacy from University of Strathclyde and a Master of Science in Economic Evaluation in Healthcare from City University of London.

Beth previously worked at Asthma and Lung UK, where she helped to run the secretariat of the Taskforce for Lung Health and led on vaccines, specialised medicines, and community pharmacy policy. She also has a Master's in Global Politics from the London School of Economics.

Lottie joined Newmarket Strategy as a Manager in June 2026. Lottie has over six years' experience across the health and life sciences industry, having worked both within the pharmaceutical industry and consultancy in policy and corporate affairs, most recently at Amgen UK. Lottie brings a deep knowledge of how pharmaceutical companies operate at local and global levels, as well as delivering high value client services.

Lottie has a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of Exeter and an MSc in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Shaleena Ravji

Shaleena is a Manager in Newmarket Strategy’s Service Strategy team, supporting clients across health systems, investor and commercial landscapes to unlock growth and strengthen market positioning. Her work spans market scoping, system and pathway design, partnership strategy and local market access.

Before joining Newmarket Strategy, Shaleena worked at EY in Business Consulting, delivering strategic and operational transformation programmes across complex organisations. She brings experience in structured analysis, business case development, stakeholder engagement and multi-workstream programme delivery.

Shaleena holds degrees in Health and Commerce from Victoria University of Wellington, providing a strong foundation in health systems, policy and commercial strategy.

Olivia joined Newmarket Strategy in 2025, bringing several years of experience in life sciences consulting, where she partnered with global pharmaceutical clients to design and implement R&D, clinical development, and organisational strategies.

She has advised clients on a broad range of strategic and operational challenges spanning clinical research, regulatory affairs, digital transformation, and organisational effectiveness. Olivia is adept at managing cross-functional projects and translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that drive measurable impact.

As a Prosci-certified change practitioner, she has led large-scale change and engagement programmes, building senior stakeholder alignment and embedding new ways of working across diverse teams.

Olivia holds a Master’s degree in Cancer Research and Precision Medicine from the University of Glasgow.

Charlie Norell

Director

Charlie brings over a decade of policy experience spanning HealthTech, biopharma, the NHS, and life sciences venture capital. He advises health and life sciences businesses and investors on policy, regulatory, and market access challenges, both in the UK and globally.

Charlie was previously the Head of access to finance in the UK Government's Office for Life Sciences (OLS) at the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). He developed new national policies to improve the UK's investment and business environment for high-growth companies.

Before working in government, Charlie led an international research programme at Cancer Research UK, publishing several articles in high-impact journals comparing cancer care across different health systems. Charlie started his career in public engagement at University College London (UCL) working with an academic research group to improve the practice of evidence-based medicine.

Paul Blakeley

Previously lead for life sciences policy at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change with 10 years' experience in UK government. Nola Bourne

Over 20 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, over half in market access across many therapy areas including oncology, neurology, women's health and dermatology. Experience includes creating a market access function, developing market access strategy, material development and project management of HTA processes for both NICE and SMC. Extensive knowledge of successfully launching new medicines into the UK.

Mike Turner

Mike brings extensive leadership experience across Pharma, the NHS, and MedTech, with a particular focus on market access, commercial strategy, and organisational performance. Before joining Newmarket Strategy, he was Managing Director for Alcon UK & Ireland, having previously led their Ophthalmic Surgery division and Market Access function. Earlier in his career, Mike held senior roles at Sanofi and served as a Board member within an NHS Commissioning Support Unit. A former professional footballer, he now enjoys coaching grassroots football teams and being outdoors, especially if it’s skiing.

Catarina Casella

With more than seven years of experience in health policy, public affairs and patient advocacy, she has led high-impact international programmes across oncology, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases, neuroscience and rare diseases, helping organisations shape policy discussions, strengthen stakeholder engagement and improve patient outcomes.

Prior to joining Newmarket Strategy, Cat was a Director at a global health policy consultancy, where she led regional and global programmes across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. Edward Jones
