Client
A global biotechnology company
Challenge
The client needed to transition from an R&D partnership to commercial reality for a novel oncology platform which requires system-level changes for commercialisation
The challenge
The client's personalised cancer programme represented a step change from conventional pharmaceutical development, requiring the UK system to develop new infrastructure and policy frameworks at pace. With a government steering committee meeting approaching, the client needed a well-structured, credible strategy capable of securing buy-in from senior stakeholders.
Our approach
We facilitated a commercial strategy workshop, developed a framework for a government engagement including a commercial implementation plan, and supported stakeholder engagement planning ahead of a key steering committee meeting with government representatives
Newmarket led a structured workshop to develop the client's commercial strategy and translate it into an actionable proposal. The core recommendation was to negotiate for a government partnership. We supported framing of the mutual value proposition for the client and government, advised on the appropriate convener for cross-system coordination, and developed initial content for the implementation plan. Senior advisors with direct government and NHS engagement experience contributed to stakeholder mapping and negotiation strategy.
The outcome
The client had a clear strategic recommendation and structured materials to bring to government, establishing a credible pathway for translating the existing partnership into commercially actionable commitments
